Innit Though

Innit Though?
Okay, so I will be the first person to admit I am sick of hearing about the Royal Wedding. I didn’t think it would be such a big deal here in the States, and I can’t imagine what it is like back home in Australia, or in England where the whole thing is actually happening. I get why people love it though; these big events don’t happen every day. But what I am more fascinated about is England. I think that’s going to be the next place I want to visit. Not straight away, but maybe in a few years. Then it got me thinking about all the things I love from this country that I’ve never visited. So ladies and gents, here is my top 10 list of things to come from Britain.

10. Amy Winehouse. She’s only released two records, but she makes my list because she is so bizarre. Whether she’s yelling at the paparazzi or hitting her fans, she is an absolute hoot. And her music is pretty swell today. If you have only heard Rehab, go and listen to her entire second album “Back To Black”. It is really amazing.

9. Embarrassing Bodies. This show is seriously disgusting. It’s about people with really shameful conditions, but it gets really graphic and feral. I kind of like these medical shows, and although this one is well and truly putrid, it is one of the best out there (if you are easily offended, do not watch it).

8. Lady Sovereign. I don’t know what it is about her, but this rapper is amazing. I’m not really into rap music, but her songs are contagious. Once you get one in your head, you will never get it out. And I love how she calls herself “the biggest midget in the game” when she is just a normal sized person.

7. Thomas The Tank Engine. While I might not be a big fan anymore, I was obsessed with this little blue train as a kid. It amazes me that he is still captivating the minds of kids all over the world.

6. Simon Cowell. Whether you love him or hate him, Simon Cowell is responsible for a lot of music artists AND a lot of reality shows. X Factor, Idol, Australia’s Got Talent (or whatever country your from), and so on. I love my reality television, so he makes the list.

5. Cadbury Chocolate. Yes, that amazing chocolate in the purple package is actually from England. Anyone who knows me knows I love my lollies and chocolates, and I think my life would be very different without Cadbury.
 4. Catherine Tate. If you don’t know who Catherine Tate is, go to the shops and get the Catherine Tate Show. Or google it. It is an absolute classic. It’s a sketch show, and she does all these amazing characters. It can be pretty offensive, and nothing is off limits. Whether she is dissing gingers or insulting gays, you’ll be rolling around laughing. My family have had quite a number of laughs because of this show. It is well bad.

3. Harry Potter. Where would we be without Harry and the magical world of Hogwarts? My year four teacher, Mr Smith, read the first book to us. I was 9 years old. Since then I have been a massive fan of the books and the movies. I will be really sad when it all ends :(

2. Skins. This is the best Teen drama ever. If you have never seen it, it’s about a bunch of wild British teenagers. Each episode focuses on one of the characters as they deal with drugs, their family, sex, relationships, love, death, and all that youthful stuff. After two years, they get a completely new batch of characters. My cousins Halbry and Kayla love it as well, and we nickname eachother after characters on the show.

1. My Dad. My Dad is not native to Australia, and he was in actual fact, born in Leeds. He’s always supporting me with whatever I want to do, and I am glad I have a great Dad J
